My Meisterstück

Hey!

At the moment this experience is not available on mobile devices.

1924
Birth of a Myth

It was the year of the launch of the legendary “Meisterstück” and the beginning of its successful career as the world’s most celebrated writing instrument of all time. The "Meisterstück 149" fountain pen soon became the ultimate symbol for writing culture and the style icon for perfect timeless design.

1963
”May I help you, Mr. Adenauer?”

”May I help you, Mr. Adenauer?” – John F. Kennedy helped the German chancellor Konrad Adenauer out of a predicament by offering him the use of his "Meisterstück 149" fountain pen.

1999
Congratulations

“Montblanc Meisterstück - 75 Years of Passion and Soul” - the legendary writing instrument celebrated its 75th anniversary. The year also saw the opening of the world’s first Montblanc Flagship Boutique in New York.

2004
Sign Up for the Right to Write

To fight the worldwide issue of illiteracy and to emphasize the importance of the written word Montblanc, in cooperation with UNICEF, asked 149 celebrities such as Mikhail Gorbatchev, Bianca Jagger, Nadja Auermann and Luciano Pavarotti to write a personal statement beginning with, “I like to write because…” with a "Montblanc Meisterstück 149" fountain pen. The statements, as well as the fountain pens with the celebrity’s engraved signature, were then auctioned off with all proceeds going directly to UNICEF.

2010
Soulmakers for 100 Years

To celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary, Montblanc launched exclusive Anniversary Editions throughout the year, featuring the Montblanc Diamond. After eight years of research and development to achieve maximum brilliance, Montblanc was the first brand worldwide to possess its own patented diamond cut derived from its logo.

2009
UNICEF „Signature for Good“ Inititative

In 2009 Montblanc reinforced its commitment to UNICEF with the launch of its global “Signature for Good” initiative. In this regard, Montblanc developed a unique collection of writing instruments, jewellery and accessories to help raise funds to support UNICEF in their work to provide a quality education to all children. For every piece in the Signature for Good collection sold in the US from June 1, 2009 until May 31, 2010, Montblanc donated 10% of the retail price to support UNICEF's education programs, guaranteeing a minimum of US $1.5 million worldwide from this and other programs.

The nib is the heart of every Montblanc fountain pen. It is the nib that gives handwriting its style and unmistakable character. How a writer holds his pen is as individual as his personality. Therefore, Montblanc supplies nibs in eight different widths, from light and delicate to strong and powerful. Those who prefer a very fine line have the choice of nib widths Extra Fine (EF) and Fine (F). Nibs EF and F have a rounded end. They are easy to write with in almost any hand position. Those who prefer a very thin line have the choice of nib widths Extra Fine (EF) and Fine (F). Nibs F and EF have a rounded end. They are easy to write with in almost any hand position. Nib Medium (M) is right for medium-width writing. If you prefer a medium nib a possible alternative could be nib OM. The oblique finish makes the writing flow more smoothly. Nib Oblique Medium (OM) is right for medium width writing, the oblique finish makes the writing flow more smoothly. A possible alternative would be the rounded nib M. It is advisable to choose the nib (Oblique Broad) OB with an oblique finish for a smoother flow – or the alternative B – for those who prefer a thick line. If you prefer a heavy handwriting style, then we can offer you the option of either nib OBB (Oblique Double Broad) with an oblique finish for a smoother flow or the alternative BB. It is advisable to choose nib Broad (B) – or the alternative OB with an oblique finish for a smoother flow – for those who prefer a thick line. Once the User has accepted the Terms, they will encounter an introductory, teaser video that will explain to them the mechanics of the Website.

The User is then directed to select from four (4) different primary contributions that can be made by User to the Website: (i) Montblanc-Stories; (ii) User Stories; (iii) Tweets; and (iv) Instagram-Pictures.

The User will also be introduced to a tool by which they can enter their own “story” into the Website (hereafter, the “User Story”) and also have the ability to submit a digital image to illustrate the User Story (hereafter, the “Image”).  This tool is indicated by the wording “Tell Us Your Story”.

When the User clicks on the icon “Montblanc Story”, the User will then be introduced to the history of the product (i.e. the Meisterstuck) and will also have the means to digitally access the official MONTBLANC website.

When the User clicks on the icon “User Story”, a story about the User’s Meisterstuck pen, submitted by the User, will be presented along the User’s own profile image in some cases. All User generated User Stories are submitted by the User via the “Writing Tool” under the “Tell Us Your Story” tool.  Users are able to share their User Stories via social media channels to which they are members, such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest.

When the User clicks on the icon “Tweets”, the User will encounter the “Meta –Information” of the Tweets. Before the User Story and Image are uploaded to the Website, the User will be prompted by the Website to review both User Story and Image to ensure that he/she is satisfied.  At that time, User will have the option of deleting both the User Story and the Image if he/she so wishes.

Once the User is satisfied with his/her User Story and Image, then User will be presented with a button labeled “Submit”.   If the User clicks on the “Submit” button, then he/she will be presented with a preview of how the User Story and the Image (if any) will appear.   User then must enter his/her first and last name, email address, profile picture and must also accept these Terms.   Once the User agrees with these Terms, then the User Story and Image will be reviewed by the MONTBLANC team and, after said review, uploaded to the Website if said User Story and/or Image meets the standards dictated by these Terms.   Once the review has been completed, MONTBLANC shall send an email to the User featuring a link to the User’s Story on the Website.
